THREE18 Fundraising Guidelines

At THREE18, we believe that if God calls you, He will also provide for you. Fundraising can feel overwhelming at first, but it is an important and faith-building part of your mission journey. We are here to help you every step of the way!

Step 1: DON'T WAIT!
The best advice we can give you is simple — don’t wait! Begin sharing your story and your mission opportunity today. Talk to friends, family, and your community about your heart for ministry and your need for both financial and prayer support. It’s never too early to get started.

Step 2: FEAR IS A LIAR!
Fundraising can feel intimidating, but don’t let fear paralyze you. If God has called you to this opportunity, He will make a way! Trust Him to provide what is needed. As you prepare to fundraise, take time to reflect on what Scripture says about God’s provision. Consider journaling a few sentences for each verse below, applying them personally to your fundraising journey:

1 Chronicles 29:10-14 | 1 Corinthians 4:2 | Proverbs 30:8-9 | Philippians 4:19 | Psalm 24:1 | Luke 16:10-13 | 1 Timothy 6:17
2 Corinthians 8:1-5 |  Haggai 2:8 | Deuteronomy 8:16-18
Step 3: Call on Jesus & Trust the Process
Fundraising is more than just raising dollars — it's about inviting others to partner with you in God’s work. We understand that financial needs can sometimes feel like the biggest obstacle, but we've seen God provide time and time again for THREE18 team members. Here are a few practical steps to help:
  • Pray regularly for God’s direction and provision during this process.
  • Make a list of people in your life who might be interested in supporting you: family, friends, classmates, coworkers, church members, local businesses, and more.
  • Personalize a support letter (we will provide you with samples to get started) that clearly explains your mission and financial need.
  • Send each letter with a self-addressed, stamped envelope and a response card.
  • Follow up! Make a phone call after sending your letter and be sure to send a thank-you card within two weeks of receiving any gift.
  • Always remember, you are raising more than financial support — you are also inviting people to be part of your prayer team. Prayer is just as vital as financial giving, so never be discouraged if someone commits only to pray!
Step 4: Be Bold and Be Wise
Use every opportunity to share what God is doing through your mission. The most effective fundraising happens through personal, one-on-one conversations. Don’t rely solely on letters. Talk to people, meet with them, share your story face-to-face, make phone calls, and write thoughtful messages. You never know who God will use to send you to the mission field.

At THREE18, we believe fundraising is more than just “raising money” — it's inviting people to invest in Kingdom work. Take a deep breath, trust God, and step out in faith. He is faithful to provide.
